Welcome to Theatre World Brno

This year’s showcase brings together a curated selection of Czech productions alongside exceptional international projects. Theatre World Brno stands out through its unique collaborative format – all Brno theatres join forces to present a diverse programme spanning multiple venues, enriched by dance works and performances for children and families.

Drama Highlights Guests can choose from a selection of premier drama productions by the National Theatre Brno, including The Temptation, The Wild Duck, and Radiant Vermin. The programme also features Sense and Sensibility by the Brno City Theatre and works by the experimental Goose on a String Theatre, such as Darwin and Company and My Hooves Have Ploughed the Earth.

International Showcase & Slovakia The selection further includes two outstanding productions from Slovakia: Rhinoceros by the Slovak National Theatre and Snow Negatives: Wetzler, Vrba, Schulman, Lux by the Ján Palárik Theatre in Trnava.

Children and Youth Theatre We are excited to present new productions by Brno’s two leading children’s theatres, Radost Theatre and Polárka Theatre, featuring I Write to You and The Grand Hotel of Feelings.

Dance & Contemporary Scene The dance programme introduces the multi-genre project Má vlast alongside works from the independent Czech scene, including Mystical Self and Slip Grip, complemented by the exceptional Hungarian solo Charlie.

Special Focus: Object and Puppet Theatre A special focus of this year’s edition is dedicated to object and puppet theatre, featuring works such as Hoops and loops and the Norwegian-French project A Doll’s House.
